Smurfs are a fictional blue-skinned and small-sized species created by Belgian cartoonist named Peyo.

Biology

They have large feet compared to the rest of their legs, small blue tails, and strangely have no nipples or belly buttons. Their diet consists of berries and other plant by products.

History

This species was originally assumed to be predominantly male, with the only known females being Nanny Smurf (the only known natural female) and Smurfette, (an artificially created smurf made by Gargamel, originally intended as a lure, a smurf siren if you will). Until a few of the smurfs discovered a whole village of female smurfs.
