Skeevers are a species of large rat commonly found across the region of Skyrim during the 4th Era, though at least in the 2nd Era they were known to inhabit many more regions, including Elsweyr, Hammerfell, High Rock, Morrowind, and Valenwood though it is unknown if they are found in all these areas still. They make nests in anywhere damp, but leave them to scavenge. They are known to carry and transmit the Ataxia disease which impairs fine motor skills. Skeevers are seen as bringers of death, they are usually associated with Peryite, the Daedric Prince of disease. Skeevers, with crows, are considered creatures of Arkay, the Aedra of death and resurrection. Skeevers are usually seen as pests and vermin. Skeevers have recently grown in size significantly.
