Salamence is a fictional dragon that originated from the Pokémon universe.
Biology[]
Like many Pokémon, this creature goes through a dramatic metamorphosis process known as "Evolution", each stage looking vastly different from one another.
Bagon[]
Bagon appears as a bipedal, blue, reptilian pokémon with a vague resemblance to a Pachycephalosaurus. It sports a round snout, triangular eyes in a somewhat angry expression, yellow, circular ears similar to most reptiles, and a lower jaw with two upward protruding canine teeth. Three thick, gray ridges cover the creature's scalp and neck. It sports a triangular patch of yellow on its underside. Its arms are stubby and fingerless, but it has two toes on each foot.
Bagon live on mountains with cliffs and rocks. It wishes for the ability to fly and jumps off of cliffs trying to do so. Angry at its inability to fly, it jumps off cliffs and smashes its head against large rocks indiscriminately. This act of continual head bashing makes its head as hard as steel. Well-developed neck muscles help support Bagon's hard head. That, combined with its strong body, allow it to destroy rocks with its head. Bagon is known to be solitary, preferring not to form groups with other members of its species. It's theorized that Bagon's habit of bashing its head against rocks and pure belief influences the cells needed to help it to evolve.
Shelgon[]
Shelgon, starting at level 30, appears as a round, quadrupedal creature with grey skin that looks a pupal stage. The shell that surrounds its body is made of bone with two openings and three ridges on top. One opening is on the front, revealing two yellow eyes in an angry expression, while the other opening is in the back. While its bony shell repels enemy attacks, it makes Shelgon heavy, causing it to move slow. Its grey legs protrude from the bottom part of its shell, each with a singular short red stripe on the inner surface, not unlike its evolved stage Salamence.
Shelgon never eat nor drink, despite this, they can still survive. The reasoning for this is unknown. Inside the shell, its body is getting ready to change into its next evolution. It stores the exact amount of energy needed to evolve, when it does, its shell will peel away, revealing its final form. Shelgon are found in caverns, where they stay until they evolve.
Salamence[]
Salamence, starting at level 50, appears as a quadrupedal dragon-like pokémon with a long tail. Its skin is primarily blue with a grey lower jaw and thickly scaled underside. It has red markings on its throat, underside of tail, and stripes on the inner surface of its legs. It also has raised ridges above its eyes. Three flat fins protrude from the sides of the creature's head, likely acting the same way as the canard on an aircraft would. It has two pairs of sharp canine teeth on the upper and lower jaw. Each one of its legs have three claws. Salamence is considered strange due to the circumstances of its evolution, its desire to fly somehow triggered a cellular mutation that made it grow large, red wings, the cause of this is completely unknown.
Salamence will proceed to fly around and shoot intense blasts of fire from its mouth to show that it is happy. It'll only stop flying when it gets exhausted and sleepy. If made angry, Salamence will lose all sense of self and go on a rampage, burning everything in its path until it tires itself out. Salamence live on rough terrain and compete with Garchomp for food.
When Salamence transforms into its mega form, the wings of the creature meld together to create a singular large, crescent-shaped wing. The wing is hard, but very flexible and allows Salamence to use it as blades in midair battles. Its face, neck, body, and tail become narrower, and its tail becomes much shorter. Its eye ridges are much less prominent than its normal form's ones, and it no longer has thick, grey scaling covering its lower jaw, exposing the smooth, red flesh underneath, increasing its streamlined appearance. The upper pair of fins resting on the sides of its head are now elongated and tapered, the lower pair on the other hand hasn't changed much. However, the middle set now take the shape of quarter arches, spanning towards the bridge of its nose. The remnants of its armored underbelly have been drastically changed into a segmented, more aerodynamic, vest-like frame. This frame encases its chest and shoulders with the pieces interlocking whenever Salamence tucks its forelegs in.
The stress of Salamence's vaunted wings become misshapen in its mega evolution aggravates it into a rampage. This fuels its already violent nature and makes it more likely to betray its trainer. Because of this, it has earned the nickname of "the blood-soaked crescent". Anything and anyone in its path will be sliced in half by its blade-like wings, not interrupting its flight in any way.
Reproduction[]
This creature belongs to the Dragon egg group and has a Gender ratio of 50% male, 50% female.
