Other information |
The Poroggo are a species of sapient beastmen found in the Vana'diel. They were officially 'discovered' by Professor Clavauert.
The frog princess Samariri (which ironically enough they are named after) was an eccentric magician, and having watched toads get trampled along the Windurst Waters she cast a spell to allow them to evolve quickly into bipedal, sapient beings. Now intelligent beings, they would come to see themselves as the brothers and sisters of the people of Vana'diel; as such they learned the language of the Tarutaru as well as the use of magic; unfortunately for everybody involved the Windurstian militia in their own xenophobia only saw them as a threat and nearly brought to extinction, to the point that extinction was thought to be the result. Instead it was later discovered that they had taken up residence with the Mamool Ja, and now they sought revenge against the Tarutaru they once saw as friends.
