The Pikachu (Astrapomys ceraunopereius) is a fictional electric mouse that originated from the Pokémon video game franchise. They are electric types that evolve from Pichu, and into Raichu when given a thunder stone.

They are small child-sized Murids with lightning bolt-shaped tails. The females have a heart shape on the end of their tails.

It is a facultative biped, meaning its primary locomotion is quadrupedal, but it can also be bipedal.

They lay eggs despite being rodents, and belong to the fairy and field egg groups, meaning they can only mate with Pokémon of matching groups, if not their own species.
