Paokais are a large subspecies of Ashan Wyverns, which are indigenous to the eastern regions of Ashan. They are blind, possibly due to a cavernous lifestyle, which has led to them being revered by the Ashan Orcs as blind judges. Unlike regular Ashan Wyverns, they are incapable of regeneration. However, they can restore their health by scavenging off of corpses, and instead of a venomous attack like their sister species, the Foul Wyverns they breathe an arc of lightning that hits its target and any other foes standing near that target.
The Paokais are known to the orcs as the blind judges, and it is to them that they dispatch cowards and traitors for judgment, to determine who is worthy of being spared and who should be condemned to death and oblivion. But merciful verdicts are rare, given that these judges rely on consuming the flesh of others for their own well-being.
