The PandaClaw (Ailuropoda chelathamnos) is a non-natural organism found in the "Bush Whacker World". They were genetically modified from existing Giant Panda stock hybridized with an unspecified species of crustacean, believed to be some sort of crab or lobster, thus creating a new species as a result. It is now an invasive species to the Bushy Woods.
Etymology[]
The specific name, "chelathamnos" means "claw bush", and is in reference to their new environment, the Bushy Woods, combined with their added crustacean chelae.
Physiology[]
Like Pandaren and Pangoros, PandaClaws primarily walk about on their hind limbs in an upright, bipedal posture. The fur is predominately white, with dark gray markings covering their hind legs, ears, and eyes. Their exposed nose pad is also dark gray. Genetic alteration has given them armored chelae (claws) that are bright red in hue.
Though their diet is unspecified, it is assumed that they are similar to the Giant Panda are are primarily or entirely herbivorous in nature.
Background history[]
Created by meddling in either magic or science, it can be inferred that the PandaClaw escaped its initial imprisonment to hide out in the Bushy Woods just outside the borders of the kingdom of Haven. Here they are known to have begun breeding, indicating that at least two individuals existed to begin with, though to prevent mutations from inbreeding there may have been 12 or more to escape.
