Marsupilamis are a fictional species of egg-laying arboreal mammals created by Belgian cartoonist named André Franquin.
Biology and Habitat[]
Native to the South American country of Palombia, the Marsupilami is a monkey-like creature. In spite of its name, it's not a marsupial, but a monotreme, as evidenced by its oviparous nature. Its most notable trait is its unbelievably long tail, which is flexible enough to be used as a bouncing spring. They're also identifiable by their canine-like heads.
In addition to their tails, Marsupilamis are also known for their superhuman strength, disproportional to their body size. Their coloration is either yellow with black spots or entirely black in some individuals. They're monogamous, and the male and female raise the offspring together in elaborate clam-shaped nests crafted by them. Their favorite food is piranhas.
