Lukuma are a species of ursid Nexomon related in some manner to short-faced bears. They are considered to be Normal Types.

Lifecycle[]

Cloddy[]

Cloddy

Cloddies are juvenile Lukumas.

Lukuma juveniles are known as Cloddies. Cloddies are small, cuddly creatures. At this stage of life they have tiny legs and poor balance; this is dealt with in an unusual manner. They are enveloped by cream-colored fluffy fur which actually aids in keeping their balance.

The body of a Cloddy is relatively egg-shaped, and they have small, beady eyes and a forehead marking that looks like a crescent moon.

Cubdy[]

Cubdy

Cubdies are adolescent Lukumas.

When they reach adolescence the Lukuma becomes known as a Cubdy. Cubdies are thinner and taller than Cloddies, they have gained a level of intellect that puts them among the most intelligent Nexomon. Despite this intellectual acuity they are usually very distracted, and move about absorbed in their own thoughts. During these bouts of absorption they make soft, mumbling noises. At this stage they look almost more like a mustelid than a bear as they have an elongated, thin frame and haven't yet begun to build muscle mass.

At this stage they have begun growing noticeable claws on their hind legs. The forehead markings of the Cloddies do not grow in size with the body and instead appear to get smaller though they actually haven't changed size and this is just an optical illusion thanks to their growth spurt. An extra dot above the crescent moon has formed.

Lukuma[]

A Lukuma in the mature stage of its life is far larger and bulkier than former stages. Now that they have reached sexual maturity they are now very aggressive and territorial, often referred to by their trainers as being "grumpy". They are still occasionally distracted and can space out from time to time.

Their forehead markings have become even more complex and now sport two additional lines above the dot. Additional crescent moon-like markings have now appeared on their forearms and their claws have grown significantly larger and more robust. Their waist ruff has fallen away and is replaced with a thick mane around the back of the neck and the shoulders.
