Lemon sharks give live birth, and the female lemon sharks are polyandrous, meaning they will mate with multiple males during the breeding seaon. Lemon sharks are found from southern brazil to new jersey in the western atlantic. They also have been found off the coast of africa in the southeastern atlantic. Lemon sharks have also been found in the eastern pacific, ranging fron southern baja caliornia to ecuador. Lemon sharks often occupy the shallow waters of mangrove forests, coral reefs, and enclosed bays. However, lemon sharks have been found in the open ocean at depths of 301 feet (92 meters).
