The Joilant are a species of camel-like humanoids with decidedly doll-like qualities. They reside in the nation of Joilant, a large amusement park and the Kingdom of Joy, which resides in the dreams of the patron. They are said to put the value of entertainment before safety.
Within an alternate reality, the Joilant people are known to inhabit the world of Phantomile, and are specifically known to exist in both the town of Jugkettle as well as in the Sky Temple.
Etymology[]
Here on All Species Wiki, the Joilants have been given the binominal classification of Joillama immemor. "Joillama" is a portmanteau of the name of their species and nation, "Joilant", combined with "llama", a species of camelid. "Immemor" translates to "oblivious" in Latin and references their potential for getting hurt due to a greater focus on fun.
Biology[]
Joilants are notable for their rotund bellies, long necks and short tails, all of which are hidden under body stockings. They wear clunky boots and have long sleeves that cover their potentially flipper-like hands. Females wear a bow around their neck while males prefer striped stockings. The only part of their bodies that protrude from their stocking is their camel-like face with their doe eyes.

After Klonoa the Dream Traveler is summoned in the realm of Lunatea by Lolo and Popka, he first journeys to the kingdom of Joilant, realm of the Joilants in order to ring the Element of Joy. Along the way he meets a Joilant named Momett who is desperately trying to locate his missing dolls. The Joilants served little purpose to Klonoa's quest beyond this one individual, but they were threatened when Leorina and Tat arrived at the Element of Tranquility and summon Leptio the Flower Clown. Upon the monster's defeat, they were safe until the Kingdom of Sorrow opened up sometime later, threatening the entire realm.
