Henches, more commonly referred to simply as Underlings, are a species of bipedal creatures that appear to be related to reptiles, though this is not confirmed. They served Magus in 600 AD, although where they originated from, why they serve Magus, and whatever became of their kind after the modern era is not known. During the present they are known to still exist, and have been recorded in both Medina and Heckran Cave. They appear to have possibly have been wiped out during the modern era, although direct evidence of this is lacking.
Less experienced Henches wear blue armor as their uniforms, and appear to be sent out into the world to terrorize the populace of the kingdom of Guardia, and are recorded as having invaded Guardia's cathedral in 600 AD. More experienced Henches wear purple and appear to have become bloated with dissidence, being known sometimes as "Fat Henches". Their species are known for their rolling attack, where they curl up into a tight ball and hurl themselves at an opponent. They also deliver a powerful punch known as the hammer punch, capable of knocking the target back from the sheer force of the blow. Fat Henches are also capable of producing crimson rain and have a lighter skintone, having somehow lost the yellow hue, perhaps through maturity.
Interestingly, less elite and perhaps juvenile Henches are weak to lightning, shadow, water, and fire techniques, while Fat Henches are simply susceptible to flame. It is not known if this is an evolutionary trait or if they simply wield better, potentially magically-enhanced armor.
