"Hackwings. Like everything else in this damnable place, they'll eat you if you don't keep moving." |
Hackwings are a species of giant birds indigenous to Black Marsh, a province of the Empire on the continent of Tamriel, on the planet of Nirn. They are notable for their long, saw-like beaks that are almost the length of the rest of their bodies.
They are vicious yet clever predators, with their favored hunting method being to circle overhead and swoop down upon unsuspecting victims to saw into their victim and then flying back to the skies and out of harm's way. They would then only return once the prey item had suffered significant exsanguination, and were either too weak to fight back or were already deceased. This likely meant that Hawkwings are in fact relatively weak physically, and were thereby avoiding incurring injury that they may not recover from.
