Golden Dragonflies are a species of brightly-colored meadowhawk dragonflies found around Zora's Domain in Hyrule. Like other dragonflies they are swift, carnivorous creatures with excellent agility and eyesight. Their young would develop in Zora's River as nymphs before climbing out to shed from final instar into their imago form. They more than likely catch their flying prey in mid-air like other darters. Like several other small "golden bugs" found in and around the Hyrule area, they display visual sexual dimorphism. However this term is a bit of a misnomer, as males possess a wonderful green sheen and females glimmer pink -- neither could be considered "golden" by any means. However, juveniles might be colored a yellow-gold, which is common amongst the meadowhawks.
Those looking for them will have the best luck finding them around the Mother-and-Child Rocks and around the Upper Zora's River. Enthusiasts are suggested to look for them at night, as they use a form of bioluminescence to glow in the dark. Despite being powerful fliers they are susceptible to powerful wind gusts, and therefore those carrying wind-oriented items such as the Gale Boomerang can draw them towards themselves for better viewing or capture.
