Despite being physical, Ghasts resemble lost spirits. Their facial expression is perpetually sad, supported by their periodic crying sounds. They mostly reside in the Soul Sand Valley, but also live in the Nether Wastes and Basalt Deltas. Ghasts have nine tentacles that serve little purpose.
Ghasts swim in lava as it does not damage them but burns the dirt from them making them clean. They also likely can hydrate from lava instead of water.
Ghasts attack humans. Its main method of attacking is to shoot fireballs from its mouth, which stays closed unless attacking. The fireball, compacted from explosive materials and body heat (there is a theory its partially made out of lava they drink), causes a large, hot explosion on impact.
the Ghast shares many similarities with modern cnidarians. Supporting that the Ghast probably evolved from aquatic cnidarians.
