Gastros are a species of non-sapient, silicon-based organisms made out of molten rock and flame. They exhibit pack behavior and fierce territorialism. It was their predatory instincts and tendency to start forest fires that caused the Galactic Council to deem them to much of a threat to be allowed to continue existing in the wild.
