the forked fungus beetle is a species of darkling beetle with a wide range, with reports of it from nova scotia, florida to alberta, missouri, and texas. all of the life stages of it feed on wood fungi. forked fungus beetles are sexually dimorphic, where the male has 2 sets of horns and females have none. males use both sets to compete for mates. adult forked fungus beetles are active at night, but can be found during the day on the underside of fungi.
