"Fleshflies? You mean, they eat human flesh?" |
Fleshflies are swarming flies indigenous to Black Marsh, a province of the Empire on the continent of Tamriel, on the planet of Nirn. They have blood-red bodies and are as big as a small grain of sand. Natives of the province, such as the Argonians, had apparently evolved to dissuade the insects from biting them (this may explain an Argonian's tough hide); however, unfortunately for the Imperials the insects would not hold back on foreigners, proving themselves to be particularly troublesome during the years of Imperial expansion. Fleshflies attacked not only humans but also their horses, as they consume flesh, doing so by quickly swarming their prey. So large were these swarms that they could easily cover entire body parts.
