Aecyto Weevils are a species of bipedal scarabs, indigenous to the supercontinent of Pangaea in the year 65,000,000 B.C. Despite possessing a very high physical defense but low magical defense. Interestingly, the similarly named Aecytosaur and the Aecyto Weevil were both weak to light elemental magic, causing their physical defense to temporarily plummet. They eventually went extinct, presumably when Lavos struck the planet at the Reptite Lair they resided in. However, their genus lived on for millions of years, eventually giving rise to the Tempurites, last recorded as existing in 1000 AD.

Background history[]

Aecyto Weevil Dig

An Aecyto Weevil burrows within the Reptite Lair.

The Human Crono, Ayla, and his companions encountered a number of Aecyto Weevils during their trip into prehistory. Within the Reptite Lair, five Aecyto Weevils were found to be digging holes in the ground, inadvertently opening up paths through the lair for the heroes to travel through.
