Cheep Cheep Pufferfish are a species of Cheep Cheeps which inhabit the Frosty Frontier, where they are chiefly hiding in objects such as shipwrecks for protection. They travel in small schools, ruled by an alpha - the largest and strongest of the school. Should the alpha be harmed, their smaller compatriots will swim to their aid.
Physiology[]
They are closely related to Spiny Cheep Cheeps and, like their relatives, they are covered in scales that have been modified into sharp spines for protection against their foes. They are aggressive but seem to take some time to work up to this point, and notably attack rather infrequently; most of the time they will instead swim about calmly, even when threatened. When they do attack, they quickly inflate themselves to reveal their spines and home in on their foe to knock it around a bit.
They are greatly affected by Bob-omb explosions, which can kill smaller or immature individuals outright but will force the larger alphas to inflate and become harmless for a time.
