Primitive Salamanders (Suborder Cryptobranchoidea) are one of the two major groups of salamanders, in opposition of Salamandroidea, also known as the advanced salamanders. They are fully aquatic salamanders and are best known for several members known as giant salamanders for their great sizes. In real life, they are found in China, Japan, Taiwan, and the United States of America.
