The Armored Fysh are a collective group of bony fysh belonging to the class corythichthys. They are endemic to the planet Vuunega, and fulfill several niches ranging from benthic scavengers to apex predators. They are known for their armored bodies, primarily focused around the head. This armoring serves a double purpose however as the heaviness makes it difficult for them to keep neutrally buoyant. Certain genera of armored fysh use this to their advantage to keep against the substrate with zero effort.
Although not the most common type of bony fysh, armored fysh are well spread out across the planet, primarily inhabiting marine environments although many of the benthic scavengers have adapted to survive in freshwater bodies.
The best-known Armored Fysh are the Green Clackers and the Armored Janitorfysh.
