The Budgerigar (also nicknamed the Budgie and also known in North America as the Parakeet) is a tiny Earth bird that is sometimes kept as a pet by humans. Their ability to "talk" often fools others into believing it is sapient, when really this is nothing more than repeating words they don't understand, and lack the mentality to. They are the most popular pet bird and the 3rd most popular pet species in the world, only behind dogs and cats.
