Boovs are friendly creatures that's emotions are represented by color. They are mostly purple and royal blue, they are hornless creatures it’s relatives to artiodactylas, non-monotreme mammals and false amphibians.

Biology[]

Boovs have flat teeth which they use to eat metals, dvds and other discs, newspaper and toilet paper, etc.

Overview[]

Anatomy[]

Boov are relatively short creatures compared to humans, adults are roughly the size of human children. They are amphibious and are exceptional swimmers. The Boov's have two eyes and arms with four fingers. They only appear to only have nine molars spread in their mouths that can crush material like plastic. The Boov can breath air, but through tentacle like nostrils attached to the sides of their heads like horns that they can coil. All Boov are semi aquatic and are capable of breathing just a little bit underwater, at least for a half hour or so. Their digestive tract is more durable than a humans, able to break down plastic, glass, motor oil, etc. The Boov have six stubby pods that they walk or run on. They can jump. but not as far or high without an outside force acting on them. They don't have hair but they have feelers that look close to it. The Boov are also extremely durable, being able to survive blunt force like being crushed by heavy objects and falling from tremendous heights.

The Boov have the ability to change color, both voluntary and involuntary. They usually change depending on their emotions or actions and can come in the form of simple solid splotch (usually coming from the face), full body color, rings or both. Purple is when their body is struck or is vibrated, either by an outside object or by their own bodily functions like burping, yelling, or even when speaking in a different alien language. Yellow is when they feel fear/ anxious, surprised or startled (stressed or even sadness in the book). Purplish Blue is when they feel sadness, pensiveness or remorseful/regretful, but can also turn blue if being choked. Red Orange is when they are angered, frustrated, overwhelmed or even embarrassed. Pale Periwinkle is when they feel horror, shock or when they faint (Pale Blue in the book). Rose Pink is when they feel love or affection (Hot Pink when they feel anger in the book). Orange Salmonis when they feel happiness/joy, excitement, pleasure, amusement or admiration. Green is when they are fibbing, specifically if they feel Guilt while doing so. Olive Yellow is when they feeling disgusted. They also generate multiple colors in the form of rings, such as if they are dizzy and spun around, if they blow air out of their nostrils or when they are experiencing human music

In the book the colors have slightly different meanings and the range is limited. They turned Yellow when they are stressed or even sad, Pale Blue when they are horrified or guilty, Pink when they are angered and Orange when they feal pleasure or Joy

Gender/Sexual Dimorphism[]

The Boov, unlike most other species, have a total of seven separate sexes: male, female, boygirl, girlboy, boyboy, boyboygirl and boyboyboyboy.

Reproduction[]

Boov reproduce in a similar manor to most aquatic life. The females lays a singular egg out in special places within Boov cities, and leaves them there for male Boovs. The male Boov (or boyboy's) then fertilizes the egg and goes about his day. Once the egg was ready to hatch, Boov's who's job is to collect them comes to take them in. Boov's of all genders have a role to play in the development of young Boov's, some have the job of feeding and raising them, and there are those who teach them the ways of Boov society. The only sense of family Boov's will ever have in their lifetime is the work units they are assigned to in adulthood. In a sense, Boov don't have traditional families or any mother's and father's, in the sense that no Boov knows their offspring and no Boov knows their parents

Behaviour[]

The Boov are known throughout the universe for being the best at running away. They frequently flee from their enemies or danger. Since their previous planet spread the Boov far apart from each other, they didn't have neighbors. Because of this they don't require companionship or show affection for others. The Boov are always isolated and are often absorbed in their current activities. They don't fully understand other cultures, mistaking inedible objects for food and speaking broken English, though they appear to be fluent in other languages.

Technology[]

The Boov's technology is based around bubbles and plasma energy. They use bubbles as a way of storage and to help make clear domes, as well as a method of language and communication. Their vehicles are mostly spherical in shapes, and have multiple tube like legs as a means of locomotion, as well as collecting things like Boov, objects, humans etc. The plasma is used to power the bubbles and fuels their many ships. Their "Phones" are circular in shape and are also made by bubbles and plasma using the bubbles to make a sort of screen and the plasma to power it. Their weapons consist of bubbles that can erode or pop any substance immediately and at the beginning of the movie you see the red bubbles making holes in buildings. They have a powerful way of turning things like drinks, Slushies and more into power sources but their primary power is from bubbles and plasma.
