The Bacterial lifeform is a fanmade retake of the Bacteria monster from Kane Parsons' Backrooms series created by CharlsonIV August 18th, 2024.

The Bacterial lifeform, scientifically named Bacillus complexus, is an enigmatic and terrifying organism believed to inhabit the anomalous environment known as the Complex/Back Rooms, a subhuman liminal world opened by Async using the Low Proximity Magnetic Distortion System. This bacterium exhibits a highly complex morphology and behavior that sets it apart from any known terrestrial microorganisms. It is a large, multicellular entity with a nightmarish appearance, capable of rapid and unpredictable movement. The Bacterial Lifeform is characterized by its amorphous, thin body that can stretch and contract, allowing it to navigate the tight, maze-like confines of the Backrooms with ease.

Morphology[]

The physical form of Bacillus complexus is a bizarre amalgamation of bacterial and animal-like traits. The organism appears as a dark, skinny frame with a vaguely humanoid shape, though it lacks facial features and has a bark-like texture. The surface of its body is covered in a dusty, spore-covered layer for easy release, which may provide protection and easy reproduction for such a solitary species in the Complex. Embedded within this dusty matrix are numerous filamentous structures, which resemble bacterial flagella, allowing the creature to propel itself forward with astonishing speed and agility.

The most striking feature of Bacillus complexus is its ability to rapidly alter its shape, size and agility. This polymorphism is thought to be a defensive mechanism, enabling it to evade detection and capture by potential threats. The organism can extend pseudopodia-like appendages to grab or interact with objects in its environment. These appendages are highly flexible and can retract into the main body when not in use.

Biochemistry[]

As a carbon-based lifeform, Bacillus complexus relies on organic molecules to sustain its metabolism. However, it displays a unique metabolic process that allows it to break down and assimilate a wide variety of organic and inorganic materials found within the Backrooms. It secretes potent enzymes and acidic compounds from specialized vesicles within its body, which aid in the digestion of its prey and the decomposition of other organic matter. The organism's biochemistry suggests a hybrid of bacterial and eukaryotic traits, though the exact mechanisms remain poorly understood due to the difficulty in obtaining viable samples for study.

Sounds[]

The sounds that Bacillus complexus produces include howls, hoots, moans and screaming similar to that of a human, one individual tricked an Async cameraman into thinking it was a person in need of rescuing by mimicking the distress calls of one of it's victims perfecly. However, the second sighting of this creature was seen in a found footage tape when it silently snuck around corners of the Complex, keeping a close eye on it's prey, extending it's head around the corner to get a better look at the victim.
