"The leaf-like fruitbody of this beet-mushroom can be separated into long fibers. A great resource for manufacturing." |
Angel kernels are a species of plant-like fungus, seen as background yet scannable specimens in the 2021 game, The Gunk. They can be collected for use as construction materials.
Description[]
Angel kernels are named for their seed- or kernel-like structure, with a heavy-looking seed section at the bottom, which then opens up into what looks like a flowering body. Its fruitbodies then extend upwards and appear particularly leaf-like.
It is mostly composed of mannose, glucose, and galactose. Like other floral organisms on their home planet, if the encounter Gunk then they with and enter a dormant state until the infection in the area is systematically removed.
In-game usage[]
Angel kernels can be found in an almost plant-like state, with large leaves sticking out of the ground. When the player uses the vacuum attachment on their cybernetic arm, they can pick these organisms from the ground. They will burst into organic compounds which are only noticeable if the player turns off their vacuum as soon as they are destroyed; otherwise they will instead enter the arm and net the player +1 fiber material for use in upgrades for the arm.
