Acid Lizards (Oxysaurus gotari) are a species of gigantic, subterranean reptilianoids indigenous to the desert planet Tatooine.
Their large size and lizard-like physiology, they may be related in some manner to the other local species of the same physiology which includes the Dewback and the two known species of krayt dragons, the Canyon Krayt Dragon and the Greater Krayt Dragon.
Physiology[]
Acid Lizards are covered in scales that are primarily purple in hue, interspersed with mottled green. Their dorsal region is also green.
Their moniker comes from a strong acid that they hold inside of their mouths.
Domestication[]
They have been semi-domesticated by the subterranean Mole Creatures, who worship them to the level of sacrificing victims who accidentally fall into the lair of the Mole Creatures as meals.
Background history[]
In 0 BBY, the Acid Lizard which the Mole Creature worshiped was known as Gotar. The two droids, C-3PO and R2-D2 fell into one of their pits and found themselves sacrificed to Gotar. This led to R2-D2 getting dented on his dome, but he was electrocuted when trying to eat C-3PO which scared it off.
