The abominable icemonster (Dinanthropoides nivalis bumblicus) is a subspecies of yeti originating from BattleTech.

Appearance[]

Like its parent species, it is a large, muscular, sharp toothed, bipedal humanoid with fluffy white fur covering the majority of its body, with the exception of the region around its eyes and mouth, the palms of its hands, and the bottom of its feet. Males of this species weigh up to 900 kilograms (1,980 pounds), where as females were about 80% of that weight, and can grow up to 390 cm (12'9.54") in height.

Behavior[]

The abominable icemonster is stated to be highly agile, especially when it comes to climbing, despite its large size, and has even been reported to be able to use tools. The abominable icemonster has also been reported to be an opportunistic predator willing to attack and consume humans, but it has been stated that it usually goes after reindeer or wild boars. It has been stated to hate the color red, similarly to that misconception about Earth's bulls, have a fear of dogs, and there are even claims that the creature can be domesticated via being defanged and trained properly.

Trivia[]

  • The subspecific name of this species, bumblicus, is a nod to the classic Rankin/Bass Christmas TV special Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, because the yeti featured in that movie was named Bumble.
